Responsible for promoting and ensuring the effective use of current Litigation Technology to Firm litigation matters. Responsible for adhering to all Global Practice Services (“GPS”) and Information Services (“IS”) policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging with legal teams and providing technical support and assistance with the planning, design, development, application and implementation of technology and database systems such as Relativity, Everlaw, Concordance, Opticon, Livenote, Casemap, Timemap Sanction, LAW, external web-based document repositories, and external web-based case management tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate will have a basic understanding of the litigation process, standard litigation support procedures and concepts. Should be familiar with basic project management concepts and electronic evidence rules and laws. Must be familiar with the current Microsoft Office Suite, Relativity, LAW, LiveNote or other comparable transcript handlers, Sanction or other related presentation software and external web-based document repositories and case management tools. The candidate should be self-motivated, quickly learn new software and procedures, exercise good judgment and show initiative in resolving problems and completing assignments. Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize workload. Must work well under pressure and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

EXPERIENCE

A four-year college degree is required. A minimum of five years work experience as a litigation technology specialist in an ABA 100 law firm or Fortune 100 corporate legal department is required. A minimum of five years experience with Relativity and an active RCA is required. A minimum of two years’ experience working with external web-based document repository, review or case management tools is necessary.

Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer (Philadelphia, PA) by An Dyer

Job Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer is responsible for the daily monitoring, support and maintenance of existing enterprise-wide applications, including document management, ethical walls, timekeeping, accounting and billing, information and compliance, litigation support applications and other related systems. Leads projects related to updating or installing new enterprise-wide applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor the health of enterprise-wide applications, including error logs, server performance, and memory and processor usage.

  • Resolve and respond to Help Desk tickets related to enterprise-wide applications, plus all other applications as needed; note trends; perform troubleshooting; perform problem management, including escalating to other teams and to vendors as needed.

  • Keep current on patches and releases related to enterprise-wide applications; review release notes; track resolutions to existing software problems; recommend updates to install.

  • Lead the testing of new software or new versions of software. Create and maintain test environments for each of the enterprise-wide applications, including server specifications and software installations, integrations and customizations. Create and maintain testing scripts for all enterprise-wide applications; manage testing teams and procedures and analyze test results.

  • Function as the Project Lead for new enterprise-wide applications or updates to existing applications; serve as a project member on projects to which you are assigned that are run by another team member or manager. Create project plans and monitor deadlines and project team performance.

  • Create and maintain production environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server and desktop specifications, client software packaging, server software installations, integrations and customizations; submit Change Management forms for approval per IS procedure; schedule work with vendors; perform installations or upgrades, final testing and close monitoring after installation or upgrade.

  • Interface with vendors on a regular basis regarding problems, bug fixes and new software versions.

  • Develop & promote training initiatives relating, but not limited, to the document management systems and matter centricity.

  • Identify workflow process inefficiencies and implement changes to improve the productivity, efficiency, and/or cost-effectiveness of products or services.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in all enterprise-wide applications via release notes, documentation, vendor dialogue and training classes.

  • Function as a back-up for all other applications that may be primarily supported and maintained by others on the Applications team.

  • Perform desktop applications packaging, testing and deployment via SCCM.

  • Assist, teach and mentor Applications Analysts and Engineers on the team.

  • Other related job duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Education:     

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years of extensive experience managing enterprise-wide applications, preferably in a law firm.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of document management, timekeeping, law firm accounting and billing systems, litigation support, ethical walls and security.

  • Infrastructure, server, operating systems and network communications knowledge.

  • Proficient knowledge of desktop operating systems, software and software packaging practices.

  • Deep knowledge of law firm software, procedures and risk policies.

  • Strong ability to install and maintain any enterprise-wide application, including servers, customizations and integrations, load balancing, disaster recover procedures.

  • Knowledge of SQL server and SQL scripting.

  • Extensive experience supporting and configuring Intapp products.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time.  Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Job Description

Based in Century City, the IS Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to customers along with operational and administrative support for IS functions in the assigned office(s). The assigned person will actively participate in maintaining and improving the timeliness and quality of IS support provided to all customer constituencies within assigned office(s)

This role reports the local IS Supervisor.

Responsibilities include:

Executing the effective and timely delivery of IS services, both hardware and software.

Interacting effectively with all customer constituencies, in person when possible.

Deploying and maintaining the operational availability of all related equipment, including PCs, printers, laptops, smartphones, data communication equipment, audio-visual systems, and, when directed by IS Operations, servers and network infrastructure.

Performing effectively as a second-level technical resource to resolve customer issues.

Listening attentively to the problems or issues described by customers and logging all pertinent information into the call tracking program, ServiceNow.

Contributing detailed solutions to the ServiceNow Knowledge Base.

Promoting effective utilization of firm-provided software applications to customers.
